Music

Nursery pupils enjoy Music and Movement and singing rhymes and songs, together with learning to recognise and play various percussion instruments.

KS1 pupils have class lessons in singing and learning rhythms, using musical instruments.

KS2 pupils, in addition to singing, learn to read music and produce their own compositions, either individually or in groups. Pupils learn to appreciate and enjoy a mixture of both traditional and modern music.

From Year 2 pupils are invited to join the Junior Choir and practices take place each week in preparation for concerts and performances.

The school holds an annual concert at Christmas, “Christmas by Candlelight”, in which all the pupils take part and Summer productions have included Robin Hood, The Pied Piper, Alice in Wonderland, The Wind in the Willows and Glint of Gold.

Private lessons are available in piano, keyboard, singing, speech training ( public speaking) and drama.
