English At SACGS

An emphasis on enjoyment!

A variety of lively interactive teaching and learning styles are used with the emphasis on personal response and exploration.

What happens at Key Stage 3?

You will study a different topic every half-term through a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction sources. English is a rich and diverse source of learning.
Drama…….poetry…..prose fiction….factual writing…..short stories.

Iconic works from the 19th right up to the 21st century are used as learning springboards. They are carefully selected to interest, motivate and challenge your understanding and production of spoken and written English. SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) is approached and reinforced in context. Favourite topics have been Gothic Horror, Children at War and Dragons’ Den.
