Learning beyond the classroom.
Woodland & Beach learning is a valued part of life at SACGS Juniors, encouraging children to explore, investigate and learn through real experiences in the natural world.
Inspired by Scandinavian approaches to education, our Woodland & Beach programme helps children develop confidence, resilience, independence and curiosity through meaningful outdoor learning.
Children regularly take part in:
- Woodland exploration and nature-based activities
- Beach learning and environmental discovery
- Team-building and cooperative challenges
- Den building, problem-solving and investigation
- Gardening, seasonal activities and outdoor creativity
- Fire safety and supervised campfire experiences
- Outdoor storytelling, reflection and wellbeing activities
Learning outdoors supports both academic and personal development, helping children to become confident, capable and resilient learners.
