Sixth Form

A Day in the Life

Life in the SACGS Sixth Form is designed to provide the right balance of structure, independence, challenge and support.

Each student follows a personalised timetable tailored to their pathway, aspirations and individual needs.

No two programmes are exactly the same. Students may combine academic study, vocational learning, employability experiences, life skills, outdoor education and independent study within a flexible and purposeful weekly structure.

A typical Sixth Form day may include:

  • Timetabled lessons and specialist teaching
  • Small-group or individualised support
  • Independent study and research
  • Coursework, practical or project-based learning
  • Work experience or community-based activities
  • Outdoor learning and enrichment opportunities
  • Life skills, travel training or preparation for adulthood sessions
  • Physical activity, wellbeing and pastoral support

Throughout Sixth Form, students are encouraged to take increasing ownership of their learning, organisation and future planning. Staff work closely with students to help them develop confidence, independence, resilience and the skills needed for life beyond school.

Our approach combines high expectations with strong pastoral support, ensuring that students feel both challenged and supported as they prepare for their next stage in life.
