Educational Visits and Activities

Extending learning beyond the classroom

At SACGS, education goes far beyond the classroom. We believe some of the most valuable learning happens through real experiences, new environments and opportunities that build confidence, independence and wellbeing.

Our educational visits, enrichment activities and wider opportunities are carefully planned to complement the curriculum while supporting personal growth, resilience and social development.

Learning Through Experience

Students regularly take part in a wide range of educational visits, activities and off-site experiences designed to bring learning to life.

Opportunities may include:

  • Curriculum-linked educational visits
  • Cultural and historical trips
  • Outdoor and environmental learning
  • Beach and Woodland School experiences
  • Careers and workplace experiences
  • Community projects and local visits
  • Visiting speakers and workshops

These experiences help students broaden their perspectives, apply learning in real contexts and develop greater confidence in the wider world.

Physical activity and wellbeing are an important part of Senior School life.

Students benefit from off-site PE and Games opportunities, helping to promote:

  • Physical fitness and healthy lifestyles

Activities may take place at local sports and community facilities, on the beach, at local parks, Lytham Hall and Ribby Hall, our local YMCAs, Cricket, Tennis, Squash clubs, golf facilities, dance studios, equestrian centres, lakes and ski centres, allowing students to access a wider range of sporting and enrichment opportunities.

🌿 Activity Week

Activity Week may include:

  • Outdoor pursuits and adventurous activities
  • Team-building experiences
  • Creative workshops and projects

We recognise the importance of balance, enjoyment and personal growth in helping young people thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

🌳 Our Approach

Educational visits and enrichment opportunities are an important part of the SACGS experience.

We aim to create opportunities that inspire curiosity, build resilience and help students develop into confident, capable and well-rounded young people.

By encouraging students to explore the wider world, take positive risks and develop new skills, we help prepare them for life beyond school.
