Sixth Form

Uniform

Practical, professional and designed for real-world learning

The SACGS Sixth Form uniform reflects the more mature and independent nature of post-16 education while remaining practical, comfortable and appropriate for the wide range of experiences available across our pathways.

As many students access outdoor learning, vocational experiences, work-related activities and community-based provision, our uniform has been designed to support both classroom learning and practical participation.

Core Sixth Form Uniform

Students are expected to wear:

  • Navy SACGS Sixth Form trousers or suitable practical uniform bottoms
  • Navy SACGS branded polo, performance top or half-zip layer
  • SACGS fleece, sweatshirt or approved outer layer
  • Suitable plain navy or black footwear or trainers

Students accessing The Wild Pathway or outdoor provision will also require:

  • Waterproof walking boots
  • Waterproof outdoor coat
  • Appropriate clothing for all-weather activities

Outdoor & Practical Learning

Many Sixth Form activities take place beyond the classroom and may involve outdoor education, environmental work, community placements or practical learning experiences.

Students should therefore come prepared each day with:

  • A suitable bag or rucksack
  • Named water bottle
  • Weather-appropriate outdoor clothing
  • Spare layers where needed for practical sessions

Additional kit may occasionally be required for specific activities or visits.

Presentation Expectations

Sixth Form students are treated as young adults and are expected to present themselves in a respectful, appropriate and professional manner.

We encourage students to take pride in their appearance while recognising individuality and increasing independence.

Students are expected to ensure that:

  • Clothing is clean, practical and suitable for the activities of the day
  • Jewellery and accessories are appropriate and safe for practical learning
  • Hair, nails and presentation do not create barriers to participation or safety
  • Outdoor and vocational safety requirements are followed at all times

Our Approach

At SACGS, Sixth Form is about preparation for adulthood, independence and future pathways. Our uniform reflects these values — practical, adaptable and designed to support students as they develop confidence, responsibility and readiness for life beyond school.

Practical. Independent. Future-focused.
